How Jyotish reads an area of life
Each area of life has its own house in the chart, a lord (the planet ruling that house’s sign), one or more karakas (natural significators) and a divisional chart that refines it. A sound reading looks at all four together: the house and what occupies it, the strength and role of its lord, the condition of the karaka, and the confirming divisional chart, then times the results through the dashas.
The role of the lord comes from the same rules as our functional benefics guide: a lord that is also a yogakaraka or benefic for the ascendant supports that area of life more readily.
