Moon sign calculator: find your rashi
In Jyotish your Moon sign, your rashi, matters more than your Sun sign: it is the sign used for horoscopes, marriage matching and sade sati. Find yours from your birth details.

Why the Moon sign matters in Jyotish
Western astrology puts the Sun sign first. Jyotish puts the Moon first, because the Moon stands for the mind (manas), and how you experience your life runs through the mind. Daily, weekly and monthly horoscopes are read from the Moon sign; so are guna milan for marriage, sade sati and the dashas.
Your Vedic Moon sign is often one sign earlier than the Moon sign a Western calculator gives, because Jyotish measures the zodiac from the stars (sidereal), not from the equinox (tropical). The gap, the ayanamsa, is about 24° today.
Do I need my birth time?
Usually not. The Moon spends about two and a quarter days in each sign, so for most dates the sign is the same all day. If the Moon changed sign on your birth date, we tell you, and then the time decides it.
