Virgo in Jyotish
Virgo is the 6th sign of the zodiac, 30° from 150° to 180° of the sidereal zodiac. It is a earth sign, dual (dvisvabhava), and ruled by Mercury. In the body of the Kalapurusha, the cosmic person whose body is the zodiac, it is the waist and intestines.
Mercury is exalted here (most strongly at 15°); Venus is debilitated here (most deeply at 27°); 16°–20° of Virgo is the moolatrikona of Mercury.
A dual sign adapts, combining both; a earth sign is practical and stable. As your lagna or Moon sign, Virgo colours the whole chart with these qualities and with the nature of Mercury.
