Viparita raja yoga
Success that comes out of difficulty: Harsha, Sarala and Vimala.
- Harsha
- The lord of the 6th house in the 6th, 8th or 12th
- Sarala
- The lord of the 8th house in the 6th, 8th or 12th
- Vimala
- The lord of the 12th house in the 6th, 8th or 12th
- Source
- Phaladeepika; the principle is in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra
Viparita means reversed. The 6th, 8th and 12th are houses of difficulty; when their lords sit in another difficult house, one trouble cancels another and the person rises through adversity.
The texts describe Harsha as giving happiness, health and victory over enemies; Sarala as giving long life, fearlessness and learning; and Vimala as giving thrift, independence and good conduct. The yoga tends to work suddenly, often after a crisis.
Does your chart have it?
The free kundli finds this yoga and the others on this list in your chart and says which planets form it.
Sources: Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (Pancha Mahapurusha, raja, dhana, Sunapha, Anapha, Durudhara and Kemadruma yogas) and Phaladeepika (Gajakesari, Adhi, Amala, neecha bhanga and the viparita yogas). The results are summarised in our own words. A yoga gives its result in proportion to the strength of the planets forming it, and mainly in their dashas.
