The 12th house in Jyotish
The 12th house, Vyaya bhava, governs expenses, losses, sleep, foreign lands, isolation and liberation (moksha). In whole-sign houses, the house is the 12th sign counted from the ascendant; its sign, its lord, the planets in it and the planets aspecting it together describe these matters.
Its natural significator (karaka) is Saturn. Parashara’s rule is to judge a house from its lord, from the planets in it and from its karaka together.
It is a dusthana (house of difficulty); a moksha house. Planets ruling or occupying it need care in judgement; its lords placed in other dusthanas can form viparita raja yoga.
